A Commissioned Cat – PEI Artist
Posted by Lyndsey Paynter in Art on February 9, 2012
Here is a rough picture of my most recent commissioned piece.
It was done on an 8″ x 10″ canvas and it was my first time painting a cat.
Meeeeow.
So I typed ‘peony tulip’ into Google…

I’ve been slack.
Here are my 4 excuses:
1. General Physiology
2. Research Methods & Communications
3. Ecology
4. Cell Biology
I’ll be updating lots in about a week. I have a nice little break from school where I’ll be working on a few projects/studying at a more relaxed pace. To change things up I’ll be including product reviews of make-up and all sorts of goodies!
In just over a month, after my exams, I’ll be working on a commissioned painting. Its going to be a challenge and a lot of fun to work on. The painting itself will be 18″ by 24″ and created from a series of old photographs. Because it is a gift for someone I won’t get into too many details, but I’m really excited!
Until I have a little more time on my hands here’s some pics of some of the random I’ve been up to…

Some people just make my day.

Came home from teaching Zumba tonight, pulled in the driveway and upon exiting my car there was a guy walking down the street. He was wearing big headphones, strutting along and singing “Circle of Life” by Elton John loudly and rather well. I assume he was gearing up for Elton’s second concert in Summerside tonight. But man, you have to appreciate those people who just don’t care what others think and simply live life for themselves.
Wine, Dine & Shine – Rossignol Winery
Posted by Lyndsey Paynter in Daily Life on September 12, 2011
Attended the Fall Flavors event at the Rossignol Winery on Sunday with a good friend as a girl’s outing. Fantastic event with delicious (and cheap!) eats and wines. I partook in some seafood jambalaya, lobster risotto balls and strawberry rhubarb wine… and to be honest wish I had more to eat right now.
There was also a blueberry stomp where the winning team got $500 towards a charity of their choice along with wagon rides and winery tours.
I highly recommend checking out www.fallflavors.ca for more of the yummy events happening this month.

Summer’s been more than busy and once again I’m way behind on posts. Here’s a painting I completed back in June of a red peony tulip!

Kensington Art Co-op
Posted by Lyndsey Paynter in Art on June 20, 2011
As of June 18th, my art went on display at a local art co-op in Kensington, PEI. I’ve only got a couple pieces up, however I’m currently working on a big one! I’m renting some wall space with my mother, Marion Paynter, who does acrylic painting like myself and my sister Tara Paynter, who does pencil drawings.
Below are some pics of our display and my aunt Lillias Andrew’s display… yeah we’ve got a lot of talent in the family and this doesn’t even scratch the surface.
I encourage everyone to check out the Kensington Art Co-op located in Kensington, PEI on Commercial Street next to the train station.
Hours of Operation: Monday – Saturday 10-5pm & Sunday 1-4pm

Allyson Paynter Photography – PEI Photographer
Posted by Lyndsey Paynter in Daily Life, Photography on June 7, 2011
Yesterday I had the pleasure of having a little photo shoot with my uber-talented cousin, Allyson Paynter. I needed a few portraits done for this summer. I’m putting a few of my paintings in a local art gallery and need a small biography and picture to put with them. Allyson just opened a new studio in Kensington, PEI and I highly encourage you to check out her website and her blog.
I had a great time at the shoot especially since her older sister and one of my besties Ashley Paynter of Melon Media, came along and jumped into a few shots. ![]()
I’ll have the pics soon enough, until then here’s the photographer!
And here’s her studio located in Kensington, PEI!
